A poster I made for Hic et Nunc Art Collective’s latest short film "Eyes on me".

The story is about children who create a world free from adults with a secret superpower: they can turn their parents into toys using just their gaze.

I illustrated this idea by showing a child using his hands to create a pair of make believe glasses, an act of imagination and rebellion that makes fun of us looking at the poster.

From his eye, a thunderbolt breaks the frame of the poster: a visual metaphor for the power of the kids' sights, capable of shattering the rigid structures of adulthood. Rules bend, and fun takes over.

The process ✏️ 〰️

I initially presented the client 3 main concepts, two with a a playful tone and with children making fun of adults, one more daydreaming and naive, with children making fun of adults.

The client chose the 2nd option but asked for changing the colours to make it more inclusive. Additionally, they requested more details that hinted at the kids’ superpower.

Finally we opted for a conceptualist and minimal visual, pointing at the active breaking of the rules by the children (the frame in the poster).
